Research Center for Hazard Mitigation Prevention earned recognition from Disaster Management Society of Taiwan

The "Research Center for Hazard Mitigation Prevention" of National Central University has played a vital role in disaster management for over two decades, partnering with local governments in Taoyuan and Hsinchu. Since 2019, it has specialized in training "Disaster Relief Volunteer (DRV) " in Taiwan, enhancing community resilience and disaster preparedness. The center's collaboration with government and private organizations has significantly reduced community vulnerability, earning recognition from the Disaster Management Society of Taiwan.

The Research Center for Hazard Mitigation Prevention at National Central University has actively collaborated with local governments in Taoyuan City, Hsinchu County, and Hsinchu City for over 20 years, becoming a key partner in disaster prevention and response efforts. In 2019, it was approved as a specialized training institution for "Disaster Prevention Specialists" in Taiwan. Over the past 3 years, the center has trained over 1,000 specialists, significantly enhancing community-level disaster preparedness and continuing to contribute to Taiwan's disaster prevention efforts.

In addition to collaborating with the government, the Center also actively works with private enterprises and organizations to promote disaster prevention efforts. It supports local communities in implementing "community disaster prevention" initiatives, such as early disaster prevention communities, self-managed flood prevention communities, and landslide prevention communities. Through these activities, the center enhances community disaster resilience, spreads the concept of "community sustainability," and strengthens communities' ability to withstand disasters.
